Title VI/East Asia Centers
 

Institutions of higher education or consortia of institutions of higher education that have established and operate comprehensive and undergraduate East Asian language and area studies centers to serve as national resources for:

 
     
  Teaching of East Asian languages  
  Instruction in fields needed to provide full understanding of East Asia  
  Research and training in East Asian studies  
  Resources for training and research in East Asian language aspects of professional and other fields of study  
  Provides outreach and consultative services on a national, regional and local basis  
  Maintains linkages with overseas institutions of higher education and other organizations that may contribute to the teaching and research of the Center  
  Maintains specialized East Asian library collections  
  Employs scholars engaged in training and research which relates to East Asia
